Hon. Franklin Elia (Ret.) Joins ADR Services, Inc.
ADR Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that retired California Court of Appeal Justice Franklin D. Elia (Ret.) has joined our exclusive panel of neutrals.
Justice Elia recently retired from the California Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District, where he was the longest serving Justice in the Court’s history. His service as a judicial officer spans 39 years, including 34 years for the Court of Appeal and five years for the Santa Clara County Superior and Municipal Courts. Justice Elia has served in every level of the California judiciary, including the California Supreme Court by assignment of the Chief Justice.
During his time at the Court of Appeal, Justice Elia participated in 11,930 appellate decisions and authored 3,793 opinions, including 330 published opinions, in nearly all areas of civil and criminal law. In 2015, he was voted Justice of the Year for Judicial Excellence by the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association.
Justice Elia’s judicial career was preceded by five years as Deputy Attorney General in the California Attorney General’s Office and three years as Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Palo Alto.
